Vertebrate Pest Control (Category P) Practice Test

The main idea here is that the DNR is the state agency responsible for wildlife management and enforcement of hunting and trapping rules. It sets seasons, bag limits, licensing requirements, and regulations for game animals and fur-bearing animals, and it oversees how these activities are conducted to protect wildlife populations and habitats.

Pesticide labeling is handled by the EPA (under FIFRA) with state-level pesticide regulatory agencies, not the DNR. Permits for migratory birds are usually issued by the federal Fish and Wildlife Service under federal laws, rather than by the DNR. River or water rights are typically managed by a water resources or similar department, sometimes with involvement from the DNR, but not as the primary function.

So the statement that the DNR oversees regulations governing hunting and trapping of game animals and fur-bearing animals is the true one.
